I am honored that my choral work, "Praise the Lord, for He Is Loving," has been awarded second prize in the Notre Dame Folk Choir Liturgy Alive Composition Contest. I am beyond thrilled that the choir will be performing this work during a service at the beautiful Basilica of the Sacred Heart on the Notre Dame campus.
Just last week, my choral piece "Fluminis," based on Psalm 46:4, received an honorable mention in the Siena College Choral Composition Competition. I am hopeful they will be be performing this work next fall. I'll keep you posted.
In the meantime, I'm so excited for the Celebration Singers' first ever Choral Commission Competition. This competition falls under the theme of our spring concert, "Folk Music." We have been inundated with entries from talented composers all over the world. We'll be accepting pieces through March 1st, 2019. If you (or someone you love) are interested in throwing your hat into the ring, please visit the posting here.
